Mad-Eye be about Mooney

Seriously...this is from my lanai. I have the hardest time getting the moon and when it's full it's especially beautiful. This is around 7 pm, slowly but surely getting darker but with still enough light for me to capture the moon hiding behind the clouds, without using a flash. Full moon nights makes me love Hawaii and makes me love my house.

And this is from sitting in my living room...crazy! I wish I knew how to take a good enough picture that you can see all the grooves and crevices of the moon, which I could see sitting in my living room.

F-ing Pie!

It looks sloppy!! Damn you Martha Stewart and your genius pictures. So this is my second attempt at making pie shell. The innards were fine with my last batch of brandied cherries. But it's the pie crust...again...that has failed me. I tried to use something I found online...French Pastry actually and that totally failed...turned out super dry, cracked, and burnt. Quick fix because I couldn't find any help online...ready-made graham cracker on top of the ASS pie crust. haha. Hopefully the filling will solidify and keep it all together. Either way, this was an aesthetic faliure (see Martha's freaking pie under MarthaStewart.com under Fresh Cherry Tart). The top picture makes it look like an oogy mess!!

Death by Sesame

I attempted sesame chicken and it turned out so-so. I didn't feel like frying, so I baked it. Instead of brushing the chicken with the sauce though, i dumped it all in which probably made it too liquidy and I over sesamed the chicken. It's not bad tasting but I think I killed the cookie sheet cause the sauce of the chicken leaked and burnt the bottom of the pan. Sigh. As a side I made cabbage, broccoli, carrot stir fry...which turned out yum. Dessert I made dark chocolate brownies with brandy cherries. The chocolate was from actual candy bars (Hershey's Special Dark) and it's okay. Since it's dark chocolate it's not as sweet and it came out a bit fudgey, not solid. Half was done with mac nuts, the other none. Yay for experimenting.
